General Competition Rules for all entrants

Intersalon is an exciting hairdressing competition which is a MANDATORY part of your apprenticeship training. Taking part provides you with a fantastic opportunity to show off your skills, explore the creative side of hairdressing and assist in your personal development.

• Remember to choose a reliable and suitable model to enable you to practice various techniques within your salon training sessions.
• Time will be allowed on the day of the competition to prepare your model in your own salon.
• No back mirrors are permitted on the competition floor.
• Your model should be wearing make-up and clothes that enhance the total look.
• No beach or swimwear to be worn.
• Due to the hazard and risk of tripping over equipment please do not bring large bags onto the competition floor.
• PLEASE NOTE there will be no electricity available at the competition venue – any required use of electrical equipment, MUST be completed prior to arrival at the venue.
• The Intersalon competition is a mandatory element of both Level 2 & Level 3 Hairdressing Professional standards.

Participants are advised that family members and/or employers are most welcome to attend the presentations.

We kindly ask that any supporting attendees arrive from 4.30pm and no later than 5.45pm.

1st Year Apprentices

Your model needs to have hair below shoulder length and 80% or more of their hair should be taken up (Ponytail hair styles are NOT permitted).
